Prior
to his full-time positions with Battery Intelligence, John was CTO of
US Nanocorp, where he established technical marketing and made the first
significant sales of battery active material to battery companies. John
Initiated establishment of Safety and Environmental Policies for USN and
Inframat (a sister company). He won BMDO, Air Force and EPA SBIR’s
and directed several ongoing Government Programs. Before his employment
with USN, John was Vice President of R&D at Moltech. While VP, John
developed a lithium sulfur polymer rechargeable battery, established an
OEM customer base, and increased Moltech’s identity through multiple
conference presentations. He also formed the initial structure for an
alliance with two Korean companies and explored technical and business
possibilities with two Japanese companies. Prior to his work at Moltech,
John directed R&D at Duracell, and developed Tester II (PowerCheck)
and Tester III (a new PowerCheck for future introduction). He also formed
an alliance with VARTA and implemented aggressive methods to win an $18M
development contract for the alliance from USABC. John was responsible
for development of new process and active material for high-power alkaline
cells (now marketed as Duracell Ultra). Before his position at Duracell,
John supervised the development of new energy sources at AT&T Bell
Laboratories (Now Lucent Technologies). He discovered and developed a
successful, high energy density rechargeable lithium cell, and was responsible
for establishing a micropilot line to produce AA cells. He established
800 database contacts, negotiated the price within AT&T, and sold
the cell to the military. John also landed a major contract for lead-acid
powered electric vehicle evaluation for the Bell System with GM and Chrysler.
He also solved a production lead-acid connector bonding problem. With
S. Basu, John was responsible for the initial discovery of Li/Ion intercalation

In close collaboration with Prof. Singh at Villanova Univ., Reisner spearheaded the fuzzy logic technology development since 1996, through Government awards from US SOCOM, the Navy, Army, DARPA, and NIH. The SBIR program recognized the US Nanocorp-Villanova team for their contributions to the SBIR program with a Tibbetts Award in Y2002. He was the prime mover in the formation of Battery IntelligenceTM Incorporated as a vehicle to commercialize the fuzzy logic technology. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Hartford Chapter of the Connecticut Venture Group and is an Advisory Board member of the NanoBusiness Alliance. James C. Hsiao, Ph.D.
Dr. Hsiao is a co-founder and chairman of the board of the sister companies, US Nanocorp and Inframat. He has considerable experience in business development and the establishment of strategic alliances with international corporations. Most recently, he has played a key role in the establishment of a Sino-US Cooperative Joint Venture in Shanghai. |
